In this course, you will learn how to disassemble, reassemble and prepare computers using recycled parts. All the technical knowledge needed to recover working components and assemble new devices will be provided. As part of the course, each participant will learn how to install Ubuntu, an open-source operating system, making the devices ready for final use. This course is specifically designed for those outside the job market or education system, to help them build new skills and increase their career prospects.

The circular economy represents an alternative economic model that moves away from the traditional "produce, use, and dispose" approach. This module explores the principles of the circular economy, focusing on the importance of recycling electronic materials to reduce waste and protect the environment.

Overview of the essential hardware components
Fundamentals of Computer Hardware and Components Module objectives: Recognize the main hardware components of a computer and understand their basic functions. Be able to choose and evaluate the working parts that can be reused. Module contents: Identification of recoverable components and testing to verify their functionality. Methods for safely disassembling computer components.

Disassembly Techniques and Recovery of Usable Parts
Module objectives: Perform disassembly safely and evaluate the components that can be reused. Learn to clean and prepare the parts for reassembly. Module contents: Disassembly techniques with appropriate tools. Cleaning and preparation of components for reuse: fans, heat sinks, cards. Test the integrity and functionality of the recovered components.

Reassembling a Computer with Recycled Components
Module Objectives: Learn how to reassemble a computer using recycled parts to obtain a fully functional device. Develop technical skills in hardware assembly. Module Contents: Assembly Guide: Installing the motherboard, CPU, RAM and other components. Connecting and managing cables and power. Testing the assembled device to verify its stability.

Ubuntu Installation and Configuration
Module Objectives: Install Ubuntu on a rebuilt computer and configure it to make it ready for use. Understand the advantages of Ubuntu as an open-source operating system for computer reuse. Module Contents: Download and prepare a bootable USB stick with the Ubuntu installer. Basic system installation and configuration procedure. Installation of useful applications (e.g., LibreOffice, browsers, educational software) to make the computer functional.

Basic Maintenance and System Optimization
Module Objectives: Learn to maintain and optimize the reassembled computer to extend its useful life. Know the main hardware and software maintenance techniques. Module Contents: Cleaning the cooling system and managing the fans to avoid overheating. Updating and maintaining the operating system (security patches, software updates). Performance optimization to improve system speed.
